SF Wingsurfing School is focused on providing the best possible foundation for your future success. As an International Wingboarding Organization IWO certified instructor, we deliver a proven progression path so that students can learn safely and efficiently, and make lasting memories as they practice this amazing new sport.

The learning progression is based on ability and we can go as far as you want to in each session. Unlike other schools, we want to get you independent as soon as you are able. You will not have to “wait” till the next session to try more advanced techniques and by using a combination of co-sailing, and helmet communication, and learn by doing, we will be able to provide the foundations for successful sessions rapidly.

We recognize that taking the steps to learn to wingboard is a significant journey with huge rewards and some struggle. We know how to get you over those initial hurdles and in the water.

Eric Lennane is a Certified IWO Instructor Level 1 and brings over 30 years of wind riding experience and teaching to provide an outstanding learning environment.

"After many years of working in tech, I’m realizing my dreams of working in the sport I love. I started teaching wingboarding at Shoreline last year and love sharing the stoke of this new and fantastic sport."

It is my personal goal to provide the best experience possible and have you become a “ripper” (a wingsurfer who is skilled) as fast as possible.

In addition to wingboarding, I kitesurf, race one design windsurf board, mountain bike and surf. Some of my favorite wingboarding spots include 3rd Ave, Coyote, Palo Alto, Gorge, Maui, La Ventana, and Punta San Carlos.

Eric is knowledgeable,  a great communicator and enthusiastic.  He’s an IWO certified instructor and used a tested training methodology tailored to my ability that delivered results.  He took me from being a total beginner to a confident independent foiler in just a few sessions.

After only 3 sessions at the SF Wingsurfing School,  I was foiling for significant distances. He tailored the course to match my skill level and his relentless enthusiasm kept me motivated and postive. I’m now a “ripper” and looking forward to taking the next steps. I love the beginner rental program because I can continue the learning while I acquire my own set of gear.

10 out of 10, I’d recommend Eric to get anyone to get up and foiling. He knows the ins and outs of learning to wingboard and helped me get over my previous self taught bad habits. He teaches with enthusiasm and empathy, and his joy for the sport comes through and makes each session an absolute blast.
